Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools seeks an Elementary School Spanish Immersion teacher for the Clear Springs Elementary site. The teacher will deliver literacy and content instruction in Spanish with English support as needed, aligned to district curriculum.

The candidate must hold MN K-6/1-6 Elementary Education licensure or qualify for one, and possess a K-12 Spanish teaching license with fluency at Advanced ACTFL level. This is an on-site position with collaboration across a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Must hold Minnesota K-6/1-6 Elementary Education license or qualify for one.
• Native or near native fluency in Spanish with Advanced rating under ACTFL guidelines.
• Experience with immersion teaching and integrating language in content areas.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate native or near native fluency in Spanish with Advanced ACTFL rating.
• Demonstrate English language proficiency to communicate with parents.
• Utilize Total Physical Response (TPR) in immersion instruction.
• Develop lesson plans and materials; provide individual and small-group instruction.
• Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior for effective learning.
• Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth; prepare progress reports.
• Identify pupil needs and develop IEP-related strategies.
• Communicate regularly with parents via Schoology, newsletters, calls, emails, conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators; participate in meetings and professional development.
