Job summary

ICA Language Services in Arlington, VA seeks a part-time Spanish Language Instructor to deliver hybrid instruction with three days in person at Rosslyn and two days online. You will plan and deliver ILR-aligned sessions, develop materials, assess progress, and provide feedback to help learners advance from ILR level 2 toward higher proficiency.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor's or Master's in Spanish or related field, at least two years' experience teaching adults, and familiarity with ILR,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Spanish, linguistics, education, or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience teaching Spanish to adult learners in intensive settings.
• Familiarity with ILR proficiency scale and NFATC/FSI protocols.
• Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials based on learner level and objectives.

Job Location: Headquarters - Arlington, VA 22209, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Salary Range: $27.00 - $28.00 Hourly, Travel Percentage: None, Job Category: Education, ICA Language Services is seeking an experienced Spanish Language Instructor to provide hybrid language instruction, with three days of in-person instruction in Rosslyn, VA, and two days of online instruction.

Schedule

Date: 13 October 2026 - 6 November 2026

Location: Rosslyn, VA / Hybrid

In Person: Monday–Wednesday at ICA’s Rosslyn facility

Online: Thursday–Friday

Hours: 25 hours per week

Schedule: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM or 8:00 AM–1:00 PM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver intensive Spanish language instruction appropriate for a student currently at ILR 2
• Develop the student’s speaking, listening, and reading proficiency through communicative, task-based, and proficiency-oriented instruction
• Develop and adapt instructional materials based on the student’s proficiency level, learning needs, and course objectives
• Incorporate authentic materials and increasingly complex topics to support progression to higher levels of proficiency
• Administer practice assessments, quizzes, and other activities to monitor student progress
• Provide constructive feedback and recommendations for independent language study
• Incorporate activities and tasks aligned with ILR proficiency expectations and NFATC-style language assessment
• Under the guidance of the Language Training Supervisor, provide monthly reports on the student’s progress

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish, linguistics, education, or a related field
• Minimum of two years of experience teaching Spanish to adult learners in an intensive setting
• Experience teaching intermediate and advanced-level Spanish learners
• Familiarity with the ILR proficiency scale and NFATC/FSI language testing protocols
• Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials based on student proficiency and learning objectives
• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
• Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish
• High proficiency in English sufficient for instruction, explanation, and feedback
