Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking an interpreter to provide concise and accurate oral interpretations for LEP patients, families, and staff in-person, over the phone, and via video across the hospital and clinics. The role supports physicians and nursing staff during procedures, discharge instructions, consent forms, and hospital policies.

The ideal candidate has healthcare interpretation experience, valid MI driver’s license, and completion of CHI certification, with on-going education to maintain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of interpreting experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• 40 hour Interpreter Training CRT-Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret source/target language in healthcare settings.
• Interpret for surgical, medical procedures, discharge instructions and policies with staff.
• Provide interpretation and translation per policies and ethics.
• Maintain assignment log for documentation.
