Job summary

Corewell Health seeks an interpreter to provide accurate oral interpretation for LEP patients, families, and staff across hospital and clinic settings. This role supports in-person, telephone, and video interpretations, collaborating with medical and nursing teams.

The position emphasizes ongoing certification, weekend support, and maintaining logs, with a day shift at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. A CHI-certified or equivalent credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of relevant experience providing interpreting services.
• 40 hour Interpreter Training required.
• CHI certification (CCHI) within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in hospital settings.
• Interpret for patients, families, and staff in-person, over the phone, and via video.
• Maintain accurate assignment logs and documentation.
• Support onboarding and shadowing for new interpreters.
• Assist with dispatching interpreter requests during weekends and off hours.
