Job summary

Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana, CA is seeking a skilled Spanish Court Interpreter to support courtroom proceedings with consecutive and simultaneous interpretation, as well as sight translations of official documents. The role requires travel within the geographic region and may include travel throughout Orange County.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Certificate as a Certified Court Interpreter in Spanish issued by the Judicial Council of California.
• Applicants who do not possess this certification will not be considered.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Interprets from and into English and Spanish in court proceedings using simultaneous and consecutive modes.
• Produces sight translations of court documents such as petitions, reports, and forms.
• Interprets for judges, attorneys, court staff, and other court-related departments.
• Identifies issues affecting performance and communicates them to the court.
• Resolves terminology by researching legal, technological, scientific, and/or medical terms as needed.
