Description of the Position:
The primary responsibility of AM is to oversee all Spanish Ballroom operations under the guidance of the Ballroom Manager and General Manager. Assist with the execution of concert and event productions in collaboration with artists, production staff and promoters. Oversee venue operations from load-in to load-out. Help manage all venue staff including bartenders, support staff, box office personnel, security and event staff, and production. Handle show-day financial settlements directly with bands and/or tour managers and/or promoters, including door/ticket splits, cash payouts, and merchandise cuts, hospitality, etc.. Ensure that the venue is properly maintained, staffed, and equipped to host events. Must be able to work well under pressure, manage a team, and be able to anticipate and respond to the needs of clients and guests. Must also be able to work with a wide range of vendors and contractors, including event planners, performers, and technical staff, to ensure that events run smoothly and successfully. This position will also be expected to be able to perform the responsibilities of each other non‑management ballroom position (bartender, server etc.) and perform all opening and closing duties of the ballroom. The AM will oversee the smooth and effective running of the ballroom in general. The AM may also serve guests by taking food and beverage orders; delivering products in a timely manner; collecting payment; cashiering; work on a point of sale computer system; set‑up, maintain, and breakdown service and work areas so that they are well stocked and organized for efficient and safe service; regulating labor; overseeing side work; cleaning duties; supervise and train staff; administrative duties as assigned by manager effectively dealing with personnel and customer service issues as they arise; provide appropriate service to the customer to meet their needs and requests whenever possible to assure customer satisfaction. The AM must be available to help problem solve any issues that come up during the course of a shift and fill in for the head manager when they are on vacation. The AM position can be hard physical work and this job takes mental agility and the ability to effectively multi‑task in a fast paced and deadline‑oriented environment. The AM must also have the ability to work well independently and also as a member of a team. Each employee will be expected to perform their job in a safe manner and report any safety concerns to Head or General Management. All McMenamin employees will also be expected to keep current on all company events, history, and products. Other duties as assigned by the Manager on duty.
