McMenamins Spar Cafe is hiring an Assistant-Assistant Manager to support pub operations under the Pub Manager. The role includes opening/closing, hosting, hosting sections, and ensuring smooth shifts with excellent customer relations.

Deputies may assist in service, cashiering, and POS use, while training staff and managing side work and labor. The position requires 2 years of high-volume serving or bartending, and a valid WA liquor license.

Qualifications

• 21+ years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
• Obtain and maintain valid food handling and WA liquor licenses.
• 2 years high-volume serving and/or bartending experience.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required.

Description of the Position:

The primary responsibility of AAM is assist in all pub operations under the guidance and direction of the Pub Manager. Duties include but not limited to: This position will be expected to be able to perform the responsibilities of non-management positions, and perform all opening and closing duties of the Pub. The AAM will often act as the host and will oversee the smooth and effective running of the shift. Other duties include working outside on a seasonal basis as well as indoors, and most importantly maintaining and providing excellent customer relations with all customers. The AAM may also assign sections to servers; serve guests and tables in assigned sections by taking food and beverage orders; delivering products in a timely manner; collecting payment; cashiering; work on a point of sale computer system; set-up, maintain, and breakdown service and work areas so that they are well stocked and organized for efficient and safe service; regulating labor; overseeing side work; cleaning duties; and train staff; administrative duties as assigned by manager. effectively dealing with personnel and customer service issues as they arise, provide appropriate service to the customer to meet their needs and requests whenever possible to assure customer satisfaction. The AAM must be available to help solve and troubleshoot any problems that come up during the course of a shift report any issues to the Head Manager and District Manager. The AAM position can be hard physical work and this job also requires the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment. The AAM must also have the ability to work well independently and also as a member of a team.

Qualifications

• Qualified applicants
• Obtain and maintain current food handlers and OLCC/WA liquor license.
• 21+ years.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent knowledge of wine, ales and spirits is required.
• 2 years high-volume serving and/or bartending experience in a restaurant setting is required.
• Available to work FT with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Wage: $19.13/hr + tips
