Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to lead qualification activities for our four-gate pathway with on-site supplier engagement and cross-functional collaboration. You will drive capability surveys, audits, and first article inspection to ensure timely, quality-ready supply.

The role requires 4+ years in supplier development or manufacturing engineering, a BS in engineering, and regular travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to set clear expectations with suppliers.
• Willingness to travel regularly to supplier facilities.
• Experience working with Engineering,Procurement, Supplier Quality and Program teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification activities through four-gate pathway: capability survey, on-site audit, first article inspection, rate readiness.
• Conduct on-site supplier audits to evaluate process maturity, quality systems, capacity, and readiness.
• Own and maintain qualification files from assessment to production.
• Drive supplier development programs with strategic and preferred tier suppliers.
