Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Structural Design Engineer for the Stage 1 Tanks team. You will lead design activities, perform structural analysis, and drive CAD definitions from concept through release. You will work with cross-functional teams across multiple sites and travel up to 20% to supplier and manufacturing facilities in Florida as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a BS in mechanical or structural engineering, 3–5+ years of experience, and proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA tools. U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical, structural engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials, stress/strain, statics, and structure sizing.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering scope to close including planning, design, structural analysis, engineering release, procurement, and test.
• Own the entire design cycle of structure components from concept to release.
• Develop, release, and maintain CAD and drawing definitions.
• Support procurement to align with build schedules.
• Support testing objectives, data review, and reporting.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams across sites (design, analysis, materials, processes, structures, fluids, systems, procurement, manufacturing).
