Job summary

Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company of Amentum, seeks a Materials & Processes Engineer to help enable safe, reliable space hardware for NASA programs. You will advise on M&P requirements for IVA and EVA environments and support hardware reviews, testing, and verification.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience, with spaceflight experience preferred; MS/PhD is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of materials for space applications, including materials selection, corrosion prevention and electrical bonding.
  • Ability to review drawings and engineering specifications for M&P requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Advise, guide, and consult on Materials & Processes (M&P) requirements for intravehicular (IVA) and extravehicular (EVA) environments.
  • Assist in review and development of hardware, analyses, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, and flight acceptance testing.
  • Formulate presentations and present to program boards as appropriate.
  • Implement M&P system requirements into hardware design and develop verification and validation plans and statements.
  • Provide input to program/project specifications and ensure M&P requirements are incorporated at the right level.
  • Review project/documentation to ensure M&P requirements are met for spaceflight hardware.
  • Assess vendor processes and specify changes; provide qualification and acceptance testing recommendations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering
