Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks an embedded controls engineer to develop and integrate the Fuel Cell Generator's control systems for autonomous operation on human-rated vehicles.

Work across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluid domains, build models, and verify via SIL/HIL testing, while supporting certification strategies and mission operations. Relocation is provided for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in a technical field related to aerospace systems.
• 3+ years in real-time embedded control for complex aerospace systems.
• Experience with modeling, analysis, and controls development tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical, electrical, thermal, fluid, and gas control systems through the program lifecycle.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and algorithms for spaceflight-ready applications.
• Modify signal processing and control algorithms for embedded platforms.
• Support SIL/HIL testing and verification activities.
• Assist in certification planning per DO-178/NPR 7150 and development of test procedures.
