Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and operate pneumatic and hydraulic test capabilities for spaceflight equipment. You will collaborate with engineers to plan tests, analyze data, and drive safety improvements in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role emphasizes problem solving, root-cause analysis, and robust documentation, with opportunities to lead test campaigns and work with vendors across facilities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 3+ years designing/testing pneumatic or hydraulic systems in labs.
  • Experience testing complex fluid systems and components.
  • Familiarity with gases (nitrogen, helium) and hydraulic fluids.
  • Proficient CAD experience with Creo/Teamcenter/Windchill.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, fabricate, install and operate pneumatic/hydraulic test capabilities for fluid systems in launch vehicle applications.
  • Develop and execute test plans; perform data reduction and reviews.
  • Troubleshoot fluid and instrumentation systems; conduct root cause analyses.
  • Plan maintenance; manage vendors and subcontractors during installation.
  • Prepare status updates and ensure compliance with Blue Origin policies.
