Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a proven leader to coordinate design and development of the helium system for a launch vehicle upper stage. You will apply your fluid systems expertise across the product development cycle from concept through testing and integration, tackling high-pressure hardware safety and reliability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive design for manufacturability, and manage plans for cost, schedule, and risk.

Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
  • Proven spacecraft/launch vehicle fluid system design, analysis, or test experience.
  • Solid understanding of propulsion and fluid components (valves, QD, fittings).
  • Knowledge of fabrication, integration, QA for tubes/piping and machined parts.
  • Creo CAD, 2D/3D drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T with FEA reports.
  • Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

  • Implement product definition, design, procurement, and production of environmental control and vent fluid subsystems.
  • Conduct fluid and structural analyses to characterize component and system behavior.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure systems work together and meet requirements.
  • Drive design for manufacturability; implement upgrades from root cause analysis.
  • Build and manage project plans including cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Oversee testing, verification, and data analysis across development and qualification.
