Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an EGSE Automation Software Engineer in Seattle to design and maintain automated test sequences for space vehicle testing. You will implement tests, verify pass/fail criteria, and collaborate with test operations to ensure reliable test coverage across development and qualification campaigns.

The role requires 3+ years in automated test development, strong Python skills, and experience with spacecraft test contexts and hardware interfaces.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in automated test development for aerospace/defense or related field.
• Proficiency in Python with hardware interfacing.
• Experience with spacecraft/test development and hardware qualification.
• Familiarity with SpaceWire, CAN, RS-422 protocols.
• Git or equivalent configuration management.
• Strong written and verbal communication; document tests clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test cases for space vehicle tests within the existing framework.
• Collaborate with test ops and systems engineering to translate requirements into tests.
• Debug failures and trace root causes across software, interfaces, or hardware.
• Contribute to test framework features under guidance of Sr. Automation Engineer.
