Space Dynamics Laboratory seeks an experienced structural analysis engineer to support spacecraft, satellites, and optical payload hardware from requirements through delivery. Emphasis on finite element analysis, structural dynamics, margins of safety, and environmental testing.

Join a multidisciplinary team delivering flight hardware and reviewing designs for structural adequacy while collaborating across engineering disciplines. Some travel and DoD clearance eligibility required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Five+ years of relevant structural analysis experience.
• Proficiency in FEM software (FEMAP/NASTRAN, ANSYS, Abaqus or equivalent).
• Experience in static structural analysis and structural dynamics including modal analysis.
• Ability to calculate and substantiate structural margins of safety.
• Experience with structural or environmental testing and result evaluation.
• Willingness to travel and DoD security clearance eligibility.

Responsabilidades

• Perform static, modal, and vibration analyses of spacecraft and components.
• Develop and validate finite element models with realistic loads and boundary conditions.
• Document structural margins of safety for various failure modes.
• Review 3D designs and drawings for structural adequacy and interface compatibility.
• Prepare analyses reports and present conclusions to multidisciplinary teams.
• Support hardware build, integration, and delivery through testing.
