Job summary

Astro Digital seeks a Senior Spacecraft Structural Engineer to lead static/dynamic structural analysis for spacecraft buses. You will build FEM models, interpret launch vehicle environments, and design vibration test plans with reduced FEA for CLA analyses.

Traveling ~3 times/year and mentoring engineers are expected. The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, 7–20 years of aerospace experience, and proficiency in NASTRAN and FEMAP.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
• 7-20 years of experience as a stress analyst/structural engineer in aerospace.
• Experience building FEA models for static and dynamic analysis of spacecraft and subsystems.
• Comfort executing NASTRAN solutions.
• Experience planning and executing structural vibration testing.
• Willingness to teach less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead static and dynamic structural analysis for Astro Digital bus designs.
• Build FEM models and interpret LV environments for vibration test planning.
• Perform stress analysis for launch loads and CLA reductions.
• Lead and execute vibration testing at spacecraft level.
• Mentor and train junior engineers.
