Job summary

Qualifications

  • BS degree in engineering; mechanical/aerospace/civil preferred.
  • 3+ years in vehicle structures or mechanisms analysis.
  • Familiarity with classical strength methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, Shigley).
  • Ability to build free-body diagrams and load derivations.
  • Experience with FEM packages (ABAQUS or HyperWorks).
  • Understanding FEM modeling, boundary conditions, bolts, contact, elastic/elastoplastic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform FEA and hand calculations for orbital vehicle structures.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weight, strength, manufacturability.
  • Document analysis to support release of drawings and documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance balancing risk, cost, performance.
  • Maintain schedule, budget, and technical status.
  • Support configuration development and trade studies.
