Job summary

Northrop Grumman in California seeks a Structural Engineer at Level 3 or 4 to join the Mission Enabling Products team. You will perform design analyses and own parts of spacecraft subsystems from concept through analysis and testing.

Locations include Goleta or Oxnard; travel up to 10%. U.S. citizenship is required. The company offers a robust Total Rewards package and a collaborative, high-precision engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and 5 years engineering experience in finite element analysis and closed-form analysis.
• Experience with FEA analysis, ie: NASTRAN, for structural analysis of designs.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical system design.

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic structural analyses, review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
• Document test plans and procedure requirements.
• Participate and present in internal and external (customer) design reviews.
• Strive for the highest possible structural performance that is also cost effective and assures complete reliability.
• Manage and track multiple priorities while maintaining a focus towards common project goals of the program team, matrix organization, and customers.
