Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer in the Space Sector, based in Dulles or McLean, VA. The role focuses on mechanical and structural analysis for spacecraft systems, with a 9/80 schedule and 100% onsite work.

Responsibilities include static/dynamic analyses, design evaluation, and collaboration with senior engineers. A STEM degree and relevant tool experience are required, as well as the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Experience with structural analysis tasks: design, analysis, or testing.
• Experience with NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or HYPERMESH.

Responsibilities

• Perform static and dynamic structure analysis.
• Review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.
• Select appropriate technical information and data from applicable products.
• Determine the technical principles, identify the design path, and compute engineering characteristics.
• Release results as technical documents after senior review.
• Develop innovative solutions and elaborate on design concepts.
• Evaluate completed designs with supervisors and other technical groups.
