Job summary

Katalyst seeks a wired power electronics engineer to design and qualify spacecraft EPS hardware and interfaces. You will develop schematics, PCB layouts, and testing plans, working with avionics and subsystems to ensure robust power delivery in extreme environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in power electronics or spacecraft EPS hardware.
• Strong understanding of switch‑mode power supplies and DC/DC converters.
• Experience designing schematics and PCB layouts for high‑current power systems.
• Proficiency with Altium or similar ECAD tools.
• Exposure to spacecraft power architectures and telemetry interfaces.
• Hands‑on hardware bring‑up, bench testing, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, iteration, and qualification of EPS power system.
• Design and review schematics, PCB layouts, interfaces and analysis packages.
• Support testing campaigns: bench, thermal vacuum, vibration.
• Assist integrated functional testing with avionics and subsystems.
• Plan stress, margin, and performance testing across design extremes.
• Define design changes and roadmap for future EPS upgrades.
