Job summary

Katalyst Space Technologies in Colorado is seeking an Electrical Engineer focused on spacecraft EPS hardware. You will design, test, and refine power electronics, including DC/DC converters and power interfaces, collaborating with avionics and mechanisms teams.

Requirements include a EE degree, 3–5 years in high-reliability power systems, hands-on lab testing, and Altium proficiency. ITAR/compliance and extended hours may apply; base salary ranges are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in designing, testing, or integrating power electronics.
• Strong knowledge of switch-mode supplies and EMI/layout practices.
• Experience with schematics and PCB layouts for high-current power.
• Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and layout.
• Exposure to spacecraft power architectures and telemetry interfaces.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up and lab testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and review schematics and PCB layouts for spacecraft power electronics.
• Support EPS hardware testing across bench, thermal vacuum, and vibration campaigns.
• Own integrated testing with avionics, software, mechanisms, and payloads.
• Plan stress, margin, and performance tests across design extremes.
• Suggest design changes and architecture improvements for future EPS.
• Define telemetry needs and power-budget impacts for missions.
