Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Stellar Mechanical Engineering Intern to help develop structures for high‑power satellites. You will work closely with engineers, applying university knowledge in a professional setting at our Torrance HQ.

Requirements include enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s program in mechanical/aerospace engineering and at least 6 months of practical experience outside the classroom. The role offers hands-on mentorship and significant ownership.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or other relevant engineering discipline
• 6+ months of experience applying technical engineering skills outside of the university classroom setting

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, test, and build mechanical systems and structures
• Own and execute a project with mentor support
• Use hand calculations and development tests to understand the physics
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team on hardware trades
• Apply knowledge from coursework and projects to real aerospace challenges
