Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a stellar Mechanical Engineering Intern for a 3-month in-person role at our Torrance HQ. Working closely with our engineers, you will help develop large, high‑power satellite structures and mechanisms, applying university knowledge in a professional setting.

This internship emphasizes ownership, mentorship, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast-paced space environment. Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or other relevant engineering discipline.
• 6+ months of hands-on engineering experience outside the university classroom.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, test, and build mechanical systems.
• Own a project with mentor support and output.
• Apply hand calculations and simulations to verify physics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team on hardware trades.
• Solve aerospace challenges using university and real-world knowledge.
