Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design of spacecraft primary and secondary structures, mechanisms and instruments.
• Engineering CAD tools such as Siemens NX (required), CATIA or Creo.
• Creating engineering drawings using the ASME Y14.100-2017 standard.
• GD&T using ASME Y14.5-2018.
• Advanced problem solving in mechanical engineering and trade studies.
• Aerospace fabrication processes and PLM tools like Teamcenter (preferred), Enovia or Windchill.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a Design Engineer on a spacecraft, instrument or robotic project.
• Create complex CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings.
• Collaborate with world class engineers in a highly team oriented environment.
• Develop and run configuration trades on the mechanical system of a spacecraft project.
• Interface with space science experts, analysts, manufacturing engineers, and project staff.
• Perform conceptual spacecraft design for feasibility and cost estimation.
