Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Systems Engineer III to support mass properties engineering for the Mk1 Transfer Stage. You will own mass properties data across the vehicle lifecycle, work with design, manufacturing, integration, and test teams, and drive trades to balance mass, cost, and producibility while maintaining CG and inertia accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ownership of the mass budget.
• Proficiency with CAD tools to navigate subsystem assemblies.
• Proficiency with Python and/or MATLAB for data tracking and reporting.
• Ability to earn trust and work across design, manufacturing, and test teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the MK1 Transfer Stage mass-properties model with accurate mass, CG, and inertia data.
• Support mass roll-ups and margin tracking against stage allocations.
• Reconcile predicted vs. measured mass properties and investigate discrepancies.
• Coordinate planning and execution of CG/weighing operations and data analysis.
• Lead mass trade studies with manufacturing balancing mass, cost, schedule and producibility.
