Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience across machine shop, structures, and propulsion while helping move spacecraft components from development to high-volume production.

The 12-week program runs May/June through August/September 2027; you will work in a fast-paced, agile team and collaborate with design teams to create reliable, cost-efficient hardware.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding an engineering or science degree.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and work in a small team.
• Hands-on fabrication experience with tools such as power tools, tube bending, machining, or welding.
• Willing to work on-site in Redondo Beach, CA for the 12-week internship.

Responsabilités

• Support Manufacturing Engineering teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes for space-grade components and vehicles.
• Collaborate with design and development teams to produce reliable hardware.
• Evaluate manufacturing techniques (additive, subtractive, forming, welding, brazing).
• Create efficient assembly and inspection processes.
• Resolve technical issues with innovative solutions.
