Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Vehicle Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to spacecraft development within a fast-paced, agile team focused on high-performance designs.

The 12-week internship (May/June to August/September 2027) involves supporting design and build of primary structures, tanks, mechanisms, and thermal management, with on-site work and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• Completion or current pursuit of an engineering/science degree.
• Ability to take ownership and work well in a small team.
• Fundamental understanding of mechanics, materials, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluids.

Responsibilities

• Support design and build of spacecraft primary structures, tanks, supporting structures, mechanisms, and thermal management systems.
• Assist design, analysis, and manufacturing of hardware and testing equipment.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to test hardware.
• Help resolve technical issues with innovative solutions.
