Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Vehicle Ground Concepts Engineer in El Segundo, CA to lead early-stage spacecraft concept studies and advance ground-system design. You will drive tool development and collaborate with government, program offices, and contractors to meet national space needs.

The role requires a strong background in spacecraft subsystems, multidisciplinary teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant experience on multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system engineering.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with initiative under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proficient with MS Office.
• Willingness for occasional domestic travel.
• Current TS/SSBI clearance or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Leading early-stage design studies for spacecraft concepts; studies may be small or multidisciplinary.
• Leading maintenance and improvement of tools/models used in spacecraft concept design.
• Supporting ground segment concept design assessment capabilities within VGCD.
• Building strong relationships with government, program offices, and contractor personnel in Aerospace’s engineering group.
