Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an entry-level Associate Member of Technical Staff to join the Vehicle Ground Concepts Department in Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA. You will contribute to early-stage spacecraft concept design and maintain design tools while supporting ground-segment assessments.

The role offers growth within VGCD, collaboration with government and contractor teams, and opportunities on national space programs. A TS/SCI clearance is preferred where feasible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited engineering or science discipline pursuing or conferred within last 12 months.
• 0-1 years of industry work experience.
• Knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and systems engineering.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and demonstrate initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to excel in a collaborative environment; proficiency with MS Office.
• Knowledge of concurrent engineering tools, processes, and methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and conduct long-term technical studies for geographically dispersed programs.
• Occasional domestic travel.
• This position requires ability to obtain andmaintaina Top Secret/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship isrequiredto obtain a security clearance
• This position requires transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Leading early-stage design studies for spacecraft concepts.
• Maintaining tools and models used in spacecraft concept design and analysis.
• Supporting the development of capabilities within VGCD for ground segment concept design assessment.
• Establishing relationships with government, program office, and contractor personnel within Aerospace’s engineering group.
