Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to lead early-stage spacecraft design studies and provide expert systems engineering across national space programs. You will drive tool development, perform analyses, and collaborate with government and contractor teams.

Role requires a Master’s degree, 0-1 years experience, and transcripts; eligibility for Top Secret/SCI clearance; onsite work in Chantilly, VA or El Segundo, CA; relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or science; pursing or conferred within last 12 months.
• 0-1 years industry experience.
• Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
• Experience on multi-disciplinary teams with spacecraft or ground segment design.
• Strong knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system engineering; some ground segment concepts.
• Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance; US citizenship required.
• Transcripts required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage design studies for spacecraft concepts, from small to large multidisciplinary teams.
• Serve as SME in spacecraft-level systems engineering for program design reviews and milestones.
• Maintain and improve tools and models used in spacecraft concept design and analyses.
• Support VGCD’s ground-segment design capability assessments.
• Build strong relationships with government, program offices, and contractor personnel.
