Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring for an on-site role in El Segundo, CA or Chantilly, VA, focused on early-stage spacecraft design and systems engineering. You will lead design studies, act as a SME, and help maintain tools used in concept design for national space programs.

Requires a Master’s in engineering/science (or near completion), 0–1 year in industry, and a Top Secret/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one. Prior Aerospace internship and strong collaboration skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or science discipline (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
• 0-1 years industry experience.
• Prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
• Experience on multi-disciplinary engineering teams with spacecraft or ground segment design.
• Strong knowledge of spacecraft subsystems and system engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead early-stage design studies for spacecraft concepts, from concept to reviews.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in spacecraft-level systems engineering.
• Lead development and maintenance of tools and models for spacecraft design and analysis.
• Support the development of ground segment concept design assessments.
• Establish strong working relationships with government, program offices, and contractor personnel.
