Job summary

AST SpaceMobile’s Midland, TX facility is seeking an Environmental Test Technician III to lead environmental qualification and acceptance testing of satellites and aerospace hardware. You will configure and operate DAQs, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal/vibration testing systems, while mentoring junior technicians.

The role emphasizes testing safety, aerospace standards compliance, and collaboration with engineers on root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred in Electronics/Mechanical/Aerospace/Electrical Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Aerospace Testing/Environmental Testing/Industrial Testing/Defense Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental qualification and acceptance testing activities including TVAC, vibration, shock, acoustic, thermal cycling.
• Configure and operate Data Acquisition Systems (DAQs), Multimeters, Oscilloscopes and environmental test equipment.
• Install, verify, troubleshoot, and calibrate instrumentation (accelerometers, thermistors, thermocouples, strain gauges, load cells).
• Develop test setups, fixturing, instrumentation plans, and test configurations for complex hardware.
• Lead anomaly investigations and assist engineers with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation: test procedures, setup records, calibration records, non-conformance reports, test reports.

Education
