Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for its Flight Software team. You will determine spacecraft behavior and build reliable software to enable orbit operations, from requirements capture to flight operations support.

You will write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded software in C++, own design-to-test cycles, and help ensure mission success with rigorous verification and validation methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software.
• 3+ years of experience in the development of spacecraft or similar safety critical software.
• Experience developing and testing real-time embedded hardware / software systems.
• Experience with development in C++, along with a strong understanding of language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft hardware and subsystems across the mission.
• Own all aspects of software development, from design to testing and integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and design trade analysis.
• Write clean, efficient C++ for bare metal, RTOS, or Linux embedded targets.
• Build reliable software systems with high availability.
• Ensure software quality via verification, validation, and testing techniques.
