Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for the Flight Software team in El Segundo, CA. You will determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software for the mission, from requirements capture through test and flight support.

Qualifications include 5+ years in safety-critical software and experience with real-time embedded systems, C++, and RTOS or Linux environments. On-site role with competitive salary and stock options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field with a focus on safety-critical software.
• 5+ years developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Own all software development phases: design, testing, and integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and early design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build highly reliable software systems and ensure quality through V&V techniques.
• Collaborate with teams to maintain system performance and reliability.
