Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to advance our spacecraft software stack. You will design and implement reliable flight software for the spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule, in C++ across bare metal, RTOS, and Linux environments.

This role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, from requirements capture through testing and integration, plus collaboration with a cross-functional team to ensure system quality and mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in safety-critical spacecraft software development.
• Proficiency in C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, bus, and reentry capsule.
• Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based C++ software for embedded processors.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to testing and integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades for open-ended problems.
• Ensure quality and performance via software test, verification, and validation (V&V).
• Collaborate effectively in a team, communicating and problem solving.
