Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join the spacecraft team. You will translate spacecraft requirements into robust hardware designs and own board-level development from design through production, supporting subsystem definition, integration, and troubleshooting throughout the spacecraft lifecycle.

You will work alongside experienced engineers in hardware, software, FPGAs, thermal, and mechanical domains, with rapid technical growth encouraged.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Hands-on lab experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, and signal generators.
  • Strong written and spoken communication to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong fundamentals in electronics and ability to apply them to novel tasks.
  • Proficiency with electronics design (EDA) tools such as Altium.
  • Minimum 1 year of electronics hardware development experience.
  • Ability to conduct trade studies on part selection or technical direction.
  • Experience creating/editing block diagrams to represent system/board functionality.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with microcontroller or FPGA-based systems; programming fundamentals (C/C++, Python).
  • Advanced university coursework in analog, digital, RF, or power electronics hardware.
  • Experience with circuit/simulation tools (LTSpice) and power/signal integrity analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own board-level development from design through production.
  • Translate spacecraft requirements into robust hardware designs aligned with system performance and mission objectives.
  • Contribute to subsystem definition, integration, and troubleshooting across the spacecraft lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, FPGA, thermal, and mechanical engineers; mentorship and growth are emphasized.
