Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to translate requirements into robust hardware designs and own board-level development from concept through production. You will work on PCB-level implementation, using Altium, and ensure alignment with system performance and mission objectives.

The role involves mentoring and collaborating with hardware, software, FPGA, thermal, and mechanical engineers, while gaining hands-on experience with lab instruments and trade studies to drive design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • University or internship experience in electronics hardware development.
  • Proficiency in electronics design (EDA) tools such as Altium and experience with PCB layout.
  • Hands-on experience with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, signal generators).
  • Experience creating and editing block diagrams to represent system or board functionality.
  • Ability to conduct trade studies on part selection or technical direction taking input from others.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills for cross-functional teams.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to novel tasks.
  • Willingness to tackle challenges and solve difficult problems.

Responsibilities

  • Translate requirements into robust hardware designs aligned with system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate across hardware, software, FPGAs, thermal, and mechanical teams to troubleshoot and integrate subsystems.
