Digital Prospectors is seeking an experienced Spacecraft CAD Designer to provide short-term support for an active proposal effort. This role emphasizes hands-on CAD work, detailed part design, mechanical assemblies, spacecraft layouts, and hardware accommodation using SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of mechanical CAD or design experience.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks for part design and assembly modeling.
• Experience with mechanical packaging, system layouts, and hardware accommodation.
• Ability to work independently and deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and clear communication with the team.

Responsabilités

• Create and modify detailed 3D part models and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Develop spacecraft layouts and support component and hardware accommodation.
• Evaluate mechanical packaging, interfaces, clearances, and system interactions.
• Collaborate with engineering to translate concepts and proposal requirements into CAD designs.
• Support mechanical trade studies and provide input on design constraints.
• Update existing models and incorporate feedback within tight schedules.
• Provide high-level drawings, interface control documents, and presentation materials.
• Communicate design issues, risks, and changes to the engineering team.
