Varda Space Industries, Inc. in El Segundo, CA is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and test avionics for Winnebago Spaceship. The role requires a Bachelor's in E.E. or related field, 3+ years in system design and testing, and Python proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in Python programming and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes from concept to production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions.
• Analyze architecture for faults, create mitigation plans, and contribute to FDIR or workarounds when hardware is unfeasible.
• Create verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware, ensuring readiness for launch.
• Participate in mission operations as an avionics specialist or system operator; determine system health and corrective actions.
• Oversee integration of Winnebago avionics systems; act as primary contact for integrated systems investigations.
• Design, build, and operate HITL testbeds to simulate spacecraft on the ground for mission readiness.
• Develop avionics ground infrastructure and testing racks; contribute to engineering best practices and test automation.
• Mentor and train new engineers to foster learning and continuous improvement.
