Job summary

Varda Space Industries is seeking an Avionics Systems engineer to lead design, integration, and testing of avionics for our Winnebago Spaceship. You will craft electrical architectures, system diagrams, and budgets, ensuring readiness for launch and reentry operations.

You will develop HITL testbeds, verification plans, and ground infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scopes and requirements. Experience with Python and aerospace testing is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in system design, test planning, and validation.
• Proficiency in Python for programming and debugging.
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, integration, and testing of avionics systems for Winnebago Spaceship.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions.
• Create verification plans for avionics on flight and HITL hardware, ensuring readiness for launch.
• Lead HITL testbeds, ground infrastructure, and diagnostics to meet mission objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes and requirements.
