Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach offers an AI Engineering Internship spanning 12 weeks from May/June to August/September 2027. You will work across engineering teams to build and test high-performance spacecraft, contributing to multiple areas: Automation & Controls, Integration, Development Test, and Test Automation.

As an intern, you’ll design and operate test systems, perform hardware tests, and document procedures while collaborating with teams in Redondo Beach and Mojave.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or related field.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with fluid or mechanical systems.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Design and build test systems for liquid rocket propulsion and spacecraft testing.
• Collaborate with teams across Redondo Beach and Mojave.
• Perform test setup, inspections, checkouts and troubleshooting.
• Conduct test operations to accelerate hardware development for spaceflight.
• Write and maintain work instructions and test plans.
• Develop tooling and fixturing to support assembly and transport.
• Resolve technical issues with innovative solutions.
