Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Physics with electromagnetics focus.
  • Minimum 5 years EMI/EMC design and test experience including RF, ESD, and vehicle-level risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461/464, RTCA/DO-160, NASA-STD-4003 or similar standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EMI/EMC and ESD considerations during early product development.
  • Lead failure investigations to resolve test discrepancies and recommend design changes or requirement tailoring.
  • Participate in design reviews, customer acceptance reviews, and test readiness reviews; develop milestone documentation.
  • Assist with EMI Test Laboratory design, implementation, and operation including high voltage discharge testing and ESD characterization.
  • Lead ESD requirement definition across projects, applying knowledge of spacecraft charging environments.
  • Evaluate materials for charge accumulation and dissipation, including coatings and wiring insulation.
  • Perform complex electromagnetic, RF, and signal integrity analyses using MATLAB and validate models against test data.
  • Develop and validate electrostatic models for space and ground vehicles using EMS and NASCAP tools.
  • Stay updated on advancements in electromagnetic modeling and simulation techniques.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans to evaluate EMC emissions and susceptibility; assist in specialized testing.
