Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a highly skilled Staff EMI/EMC Engineer to join our space-focused engineering team in Denver. The role focuses on ensuring EMI/EMC integrity for spacecraft, satellites, and ground support equipment through analysis, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead design guidance, develop control plans, perform MIL-STD-461/DO-160/ECSS-compliant testing, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced environment. Competitive compensation and stock options are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, Physics, or related field.
• 8+ years of EMI/EMC engineering experience, preferably in space, aerospace, or defense.
• Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC principles, standards (MIL-STD-461, DO-160, ECSS).
• Experience with EMI/EMC test equipment and simulation tools (e.g., CST, HFSS, FEKO).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement EMI/EMC control plans and mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical guidance to design teams on EMI/EMC considerations.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct EMI/EMC testing for space systems.
• Use CST HFSS and other tools to model fields and predict interference.
• Ensure compliance documentation and reporting to stakeholders.
• Investigate EMI/EMC issues and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare comprehensive test results and compliance matrices.
• Lead initiatives to improve EMI/EMC design practices and methods.
• Mentor and train junior engineers on EMI/EMC best practices.
