Job summary

Vast is seeking a Senior EMI-EMC Test Engineer in Long Beach to support the design and build of human-rated space stations. This full-time role reports to the Senior Manager, EMI-EMC, and focuses on EMI-EMC development for spacecraft and components.

Responsibilities include implementing MIL-STD-461, developing procedures, performing measurements, and coordinating resources. The candidate should have strong analytical skills and the ability to work across teams in a spaceflight environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related STEM.
• 4+ years EMI/EMC testing experience.
• Deep knowledge of MIL-STD-461, DO-160, and CISPR.

Responsibilities

• Implement MIL-STD-461 test methods at on-site EMC test facility and at remote locations.
• Develop EMI-EMC test procedures and methodology.
• Perform EMI-EMC development and qualification testing of Vast spacecraft and components.
• Conduct measurements such as bonding resistance, shielding effectiveness, and RF voltage/current.
• Manage test resources including equipment and facilities with scheduling and calibration processes.
• Explain EMC test purposes to hardware engineers and leaders.
