Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft LLC in Elma, NY is seeking a Staff Manager for Project Engineering to lead a team of about 20 engineers onsite and drive projects from initiation through development and production with strong leadership and technical oversight.

You will manage performance, mentor staff, and steer engineering strategy, aligning with cost and schedule targets while promoting continuous improvement across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams to success.
• Experience with people leadership and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated experience in project management including EVMS, Risk and Opportunity Management, Scope Management, Schedule and Budget Management.
• Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of ~20 project engineers.
• Assign projects to direct reports promptly and monitor tasks to ensure they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Provide personal development for direct reports by conducting performance reviews, mentoring, and monitoring career development.
• Provide technical leadership to the broader organization by providing feedback to engineering strategy.
• Champion continuous improvement in the design and development processes.
• Coordinate with engineering leadership to align project goals and share best practices across teams.
• Maintain key performance indicators and metrics.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to your team.
