Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA seeks an IC 2027 Aerospace Software and Simulation Engineer to conduct tests and analyses of software systems embedded in launch vehicles and spacecraft, and to develop simulations for validation and mission assurance.

You will model space-system components, develop tools for analysis, and collaborate across teams while adhering to software and system engineering best practices, with a path toward security clearance where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months).
• 0–1 year of industry work experience with prior internship at The Aerospace Corporation.
• Relevant project experience in dynamics, control systems, modeling & simulation.
• Experience programming in Python, Java, and C/C++; Linux/Unix familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests and analyses of software systems embedded in launch vehicles and spacecraft.
• Develop simulations to support software validation, anomaly resolution, and mission assurance activities.
• Model space system components (sensors, actuators, dynamics) for software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and emulators.
• Develop tools to enhance analysis and simulation capabilities; follow best practices and collaborate with teams.
