Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation invites students to contribute to software design and prototype development for simulated space systems. You’ll work with an interdisciplinary team, applying standard techniques in a structured internship that includes training and mentorship.

Ideal candidates are enrolled full-time in CS/CE, can commit to at least 10 weeks, and have experience with Python, C/C++, or Java, as well as cloud services like AWS or Azure. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor’sDegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field(s)
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and return to a degree program full-time after completion of the internship
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
• Experience programming in Python, C/C++, or JAVA
• Ability to work with common cloud computing services such as Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
• This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the software design & implementation of a simulated space system.
• Develops prototype software in Python, Java & C to operate on the simulated space element and the simulated ground element.
• Participates with an interdisciplinary team in ongoing research or technical programs with academic collaboration partners.
• Applies standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed scientific and/or engineering tasks.
• Training and mentorship will be provided.
