Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is hiring Embedded Systems / Software Engineering Undergraduate Interns for the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). The internship is full-time and onsite at our El Segundo office (Chantilly, VA opportunities).

You will help develop software for a simulated space system using Python, Java, and C, within an interdisciplinary team. You will receive training and mentorship while applying standard software practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field(s).
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and return to degree program after internship.
• Experience programming in Python, C/C++, or Java
• Ability to work with cloud computing services such as AWS or Azure.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in software design & implementation of a simulated space system.
• Develops prototype software in Python, Java & C to operate on the simulated space and ground elements.
• Participates with interdisciplinary team on ongoing research or technical programs.
• Applies standard techniques to carry out prescribed scientific/engineering tasks.
