CesiumAstro, Inc. invites applications for a Software Engineering Intern in the Advanced Projects Group for spring 2027.

The internship focuses on high-performance computing hardware for spacecraft and aerospace systems, with hands-on, autonomous work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment at our onsite facilities in Austin, Texas. Candidates must be enrolled in BS/MS/PhD programs in CS/EE/CE, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and strong C/C++ programming skills.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in CS, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate UT GRID GNSS Rx running on Cesium hardware and processing signals from HWIL GNSS transmitter.
• Benchmark GRID performance on Cesium hardware representative of upcoming missions.
• Evaluate multiple hardware blocks for support of multiple frequencies/antennas.
• Scope and advance a HWIL or software simulator for Lunar AFS TX/RX signals for CesiumAstro RPU hardware and single-board computers.
• Set items in motion for L2 continuation of AFS receiver software per CesiumAstro L2 decisions in WNCG consortium.
• Present results to CesiumAstro at internship conclusion.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding CesiumAstro IP.
