Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking Summer 2027 interns to design embedded software for satellite communication systems. You will work with engineers on microcontroller programming, low-level drivers, BSPs, end-use applications, and user interfaces, with assignments driven by project availability and your interests.

Interns present their work to peers, mentors, and CesiumAstro leadership and must communicate clearly in writing and speech.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited university.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Advanced coursework in embedded systems.
• Programming experience in C or C++.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design embedded software for satellite communication systems.
• Work on low-level drivers, BSPs, end-use applications and user interfaces.
• Assignments determined by project availability and candidate interests.
• Interns present their work to peers, mentors and CesiumAstro leadership during the internship.
